Detroit Pistons '09/'10
Posted on August 4, 2009 at 12:45 AM.
I've been wondering what the Pistons' starting lineup will be for a while now. My idea is:

Starter (Backup)
PG: Rodney Stuckey (Will Bynum)
SG: Richard Hamilton (Ben Gordon)
SF: Tayshaun Prince (Austin Daye)
PF: Charlie Villanueva (Jason Maxiell)
C: Kwame Brown (Chris Wilcox)

I think the Pistons have a very good back-court but are obviously lacking up front, especially with Kwame Brown starting... oh boy. I also think that the small forward position will be good now with a good starter and Tayshaun and a good (hopefully) backup in Austin Daye for the first time in a few years. The four and five positions of the front-court are where we start running into trouble. Charlie Villanueva is a good face-up player, but not a great force inside, similar to how Rasheed Wallace plays. Kwame Brown is... Kwame Brown. Jason Maxiell is a good energy guy coming off the bench and Chris Wilcox has some decent athleticism and has averaged almost ten points and five rebounds throughout his career. I think the Pistons have a decent team that will finish above 500 and make the playoffs.

What do you all think the Pistons' line-up will look like this year and what are you expecting from them in the upcoming season?

Their lack of bulk up front looks a little scary. Team should be fun to watch though. I think in hindsight Joe would admit that firing Flip was a bad move.

I actually don't think that was too bad of a move. Apparently he didn't get the respect of the veterans in the locker room. But I'm sure he would've been better than Michael. But Joe really screwed up with the Chauncey/AI trade. At the time I thought it was smart because we'd be getting a good scorer and more cap room, but it turned out horribly.
