We take you to the live press conference with GM Macintosh of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"We would like to announce a minor deal made with the Boston Bruins. We have traded away our 2013 4th round and a 2012 7th round for Steven Kampfer. We made this deal because we believe that Steven can become a very good NHL defenseman in a couple years. Right now though he will play in the AHL with Springfield."

Hey Boys,

Just thought that I would let you guys know what I plan on doing as far as statistics, and standings. I plan on playing the rest of October out( 3 games). Then I will send out an update for team statistics, and team standings as well. I will still send out a update after every 6 games, but it will only be of our last 6 games. I will send out month by month statistics. I plan on having the October statistics done and posted either tomorrow or on Friday(most likely Friday). Hopefully you guys are following my dynasty, and let me know what your guys opinions are. Anyways thanks for following.

After our first 6 games I feel pretty good with our results. Mason has been playing solid so far. Before the last two games that we won(Both Dallas Games) I made some lineup changes. I wanted to get some more offense into the back end. All I did was scratch Clitsome and put in Johnson. It seemed to work because we have won the last 2. I have yet to put Prospal into the lineup so far. I don't really see a need to insert him yet because no one has played bad for us on forward yet. I have put Sanford in for 1 game so far. He will be starting one game in the back to back this weekend. I should have an update out for the next 6 games either in the next day or two, so look out for that. If there any big news etc.. trade or call up i will send out an update. I don't know if I should put out stats after every 6 games or not. Let me know if you want to see those.BTW I plan on playing every game this year. Thanks for reading

We lost our Season opener 2-0 to the Nashville Predators. The game story was Rinne. We couldn't beat him even though we out shot them 29 to 21. Looking for a bounceback game against the Wild. Tough way to open the season with back to back games right away. Look for Sanford to get the start for our game

It Could be another long year for the Blue Jackets. We are expecting somewhere around 36 wins this season.

Forward Lines:

Line 1:

LW-RJ Umberger/C-Jeff Carter/RW-Rick Nash

Anaysis:
This is a very solid first line, as it has a PWF,SNP,TWF. This line can match up against any line in the NHL. Although this is the first year thst Carter will play with Nash, so we will have to wait and see how it goes.

Line 2:

LW-Kristian Huslius/C-Derek Brassard/RW-Maksim Mayorov

Anaysis:
This was a huge question coming into camp. Who will be RW on the 2nd line? Well meet Maksim Mayorov. A 22 yr old rookie, who is a PLY. He impressed the coaching staff in camp this year. If things start to faulter this year things might be changed up, but for now this is the 2nd line.

Line 3:

LW-Matt Calvert/C-Antoine Vermette/RW-Derek Dorsett

Anaysis:
This was possibly the line that had the best chemistry throughout camp. When you combine the faceoff skill of Vermette, the Grit of Dorsett, and the offense of Calvert you end up with a great line. This line will be used in tough situations late in the game, and I will have no worries of putting this line out there.

Line 4:

LW-Colton Gillies/C-Samuel Pahlsson/RW-Jared Boll

Anaysis:
This is your typical 4th line grinder line. This line isnt out there to score goals, its out there to lay some big hits, and get your team into the game.

Defense Pairings:

#1:

D1-James Wisniewski/D2-Brett Lebda

Anaysis:
Big surprise coming out of camp was that Brett Lebda actually earned his spot on the top pairing with solid play during camp.It could take this guys a little bit to find some chemistry, but I believe that this is going to be a solid pairing.

#2:

D3-Fedor Tyutin/D4-Radek Martinek

Anaysis:
We needed someone to compliment Tyutin's offensive abilities with great defensive abilties. That is exactly what we have here. Martinek is a great stay at home defensemen.

#3:

D5-Grant Clitsome/D6-Marc Methot

Anaysis:
This is a good shut down defensive pair. This pair will be used to shut down the oppenents late in the game.

Goalies:

G1-Steve Mason/G2-Curtis Sanford

Anaysis:
This is not that bad of a goaltending duo. Sanford will be expected to play around 25 games this year, as Mason is still young. Waiting in the wings is a top prospect in the name of Dekanich.

Scratches:

Forward:
Vaclav Prospal

Defense:
Aaron Johnson

Well that is the lines that we are going with for the start of the season. What are your guys opinion on the team this year. Let me know

Centers Age OVR
Jeff Carter 26 87
Antoine Vermette 29 84
Derek Brassard 23 83
Samuel Pahlsson 33 83
Vaclav Prospal 36 82
Ryan Johansen 19 80
Mark Letestu 26 79

Analysis:
Jeff Carter has already earned the number 1 Center position. Derek Brassard might beat out Vermette for the number 2 role. Which leaves quite a few other players viaing for a spot. Might have to move 1 or 2 on the wing, but we will see.

Left Wing Age OVR
Kristian Huselius 32 84
RJ Umberger 29 84
Colton Gillies 22 75
Alexandre Giroux 30 76
Matt Calvert 21 75

Analysis:
There is going to be a fight to see who makes it on the top line. Also 3rd and 4th line roles are up for grabs.

Right Wing Age OVR
Rick Nash 27 89
Jared Boll 25 79
Derek Dorsett 24 79
Cam Atkinson 22 74
Maksim Mayorov 22 74

Analysis:
Rick Nash has won the top line role on the right wing, but that is all that is set. Jared Boll is the 4th line Tough Guy, while Dorsett will probably the 3rd line grinder.

Defense Age OVR
James Wisniewski 27 83
Fedor Tyutin 28 81
Radek Martinek 35 80
Marc Methot 26 80
Brett Lebda 29 79
Grant Clitsome 26 78
Nikita Nikitin 25 76
Aaron Johnson 28 77
John Moore 20 75
David Savard 20 75

Analysis:
This is our weakest postion as you can see. Nothing is really set here except for Wisniewski and Tyutin. Two really good prospects Moore and Savard, are possibly our best prospects in our organization.

Goalie Age OVR
Steve Mason 23 84
Curtis Sanford 31 79
Mark Dekanich 25 75

Anaysis:
Mason is almost guarenteed the starter role unless of injury. While Sanford is expected to back Mason up this year.

Should Finish the preseason tonight.More details to follow....
