I'm going to be blunt. We were thoroughly embarrassed in our home opener. Those Bearcats had our number from the kickoff and they ran and ran and ran like Forrest Gump. They barely had the ball for a couple of plays before they crossed the goal line.

We had to throw virtually every down to catch up. And we certainly tried to no avail. Brandon Fricke tossed it 43 times! It did amount to over 350 yards passing, but it pains me to see that lack of balance in an offense. It wasn't until mid way through the fourth quarter that we got the ball in the end zone and obviously it was much too late then.

Head Coach, Dan Enos held a private meeting with all of the defensive staff including coordinator Joe Tumpkins after the game. Now I wasn't in the room during the meeting, but there was plenty of cursing and it didn't sound too friendly. I know coach doesn't want to lose to our biggest rival at Kalamazoo next weekend. I hope Tumpkins can turn it around, I don't wanna see him get fired!
