Around the country we saw more major upsets and statement wins. In Ann Arbor, Michigan made loud statement. the '23 and '24 champs think they're ready to make another run at a title, and showed just how far Oklahoma has to get back on that level, as UM cruised to a 49-17 win.

The Vols traveled to Lincoln and won a defensive slugfest over the Cornhuskers, 15-12. The newest entry of Catholics vs Convicts went to Miami 10-9. Oregon blew out Oklahoma St. 44-14 in Stillwater.

In the game of the week, Ohio St beat Texas, in Austin, 27-22. Arch Manning was injured early in this one and never even got the chance to throw a pass, leaving sophomore Trey Owens to face the tough Buckeye defense. Early reports are not promising, as Arch Manning, perhaps the nations best QB and top NFL propsect, will likely miss the remainder of the season with a torn tricep.

The BG Falcons 2026 home opener didn't go as planned as they fell to the Lousiville Cardinals by the score of 24-17 in sloppy, wet football game. Neither team moved the ball consistently as the rain wreaked both teams passing games, and neither team moved it well on the ground. The difference in the game really came down to BG's inability to protect their quarterback.

With their CFP hopes dashed before September even ends, they'll need to rebound quickly to savage anything from this non-conference slate, with a trip to Ames to take on the Cyclones on deck next Saturday.

The 2026 season didn't get off to a great start for the Bowling Green Falcons, as they fall to the ASU Sun Devils 52-20. While they were able to move the ball well at times, they couldn't keep up with the Sun Devil offense and star WR Korbin Hendrix, who went off for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The BGSU Falcons prepare for Year 3 under Head Coach Mike Rosati. Expectations are high this season as they come off two consecutive MAC title game appearances and a MAC championship in 2025, as the roster has steadily improved the last two seasons. Even after losing two All Americans from their offense, including first round NFL pick TE Harold Fannin Jr, they bring back a very strong offensive line, starting QB Philip Rush, and a stable of dynamic RBs. They are the preseason pick to win the MAC and with a tough out of conference schedule, including games against Arizona St., Louisville and Iowa State, some are thinking of a potential playoff spot if they can pull off some upsets in at least two of those games.
