I've been playing video football since Intellivision and even Coleco-vision. If you don't know what those are, Google them. Joe Montana Football on the Sega was my first real crack-like-addition football game, although I probably played more EA Sports' NHL Hockey '93 and up at the time. Joe Montana's play by play commentary guy was awesome, like NFL Films. I was really enthralled with Madden when it first came out on the PS2, and especially after it went online for the first time with Madden 2003 or 2004. That was the first time I really experienced the future in what was to be permanent, that being the online gaming world. Pretty incredible that I could continue to play my older brother in Madden, even though he had just moved across the country, all before smart phones came along. In the process I have dabbled in historic rosters, especially so back in 2005, and even more hard core this year with Capa and his classic roster set. In 2005 we had classic teams we could edit but couldn't share. Now we have no classic teams as part of the game, but we can share rosters with the world. We work around it the best we can. I'm a self-proclaimed Dallas Cowboys historian and have one of the premier Cowboy Card collections in the country. For better and for worse, I'm a Madden guy all the way.
