This one had all the makings of the classic Detroit Lions meltdown. Twice, the Lions blew 14 point leads to the Green Bay Packers. But, in the end, the Lions prevailed. Austin Seibert connected on an 18 yard field goal with just 26 seconds left in the game, as the Lions beat the Packers 31-28 at Lambeau Field, to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Former Packer Jamaal Williams had a pair of touchdown runs. He and De'Andre Swift both rushed for over 90 yards. The Lions rushed for 184 yards as a team. Jared Goff finished 24/38 for 237 yards and a touchdown, but his two interceptions helped the Packers get back into the game.

The Lions jumped out to a 14-0 first half lead. Williams scored with 6:18 left in the first, and then Goff hit Darren Fells on a 12 yard score with 6:29 left in the second quarter. Green Bay got to within 7 on a 11 yard TD pass from Aaron Rodgers to Tight End Robert Tonyan. With 56 seconds left in the first half, Rodgers found running back Aaron Jones from a yard out, to knot the game at 14.

The Lions reclaimed the lead on a Swift 2 yard run, making it 21-14. On the ensuing drive, Romeo Okwara strip sacked Rodgers, which the Lions recovered. This set up a 3 yard run by Jamaal Williams, his second TD of the game. The Lions led 28-14 going into the 4th quarter. Touchdown catches by Devante Adams, and Randall Cobb would tie the game with 6:59 left. Once again, the Lions had blown a double digit lead. But, this time, they wouldn't implode.

Detroit orchestrated a game winning drive that took over 6 minutes off the clock, culminating with a 18 yard field goal with just 26 seconds left. With just 26 seconds left, Rodgers got the Packers within field goal range, but with no time outs, the clock ran out on them.

With the win, the Lions improve to 2-0 on the young season. Green Bay falls to 0-2. The Lions return home next week, to face the 1-1 Baltimore Ravens.
