TIGERS FALL TO TWINS 5-3

The Twins hit three home runs, as they powered past the Detroit Tigers 5-3 Saturday afternoon. Nomar Mazara homered twice for the Tigers in the loss. Tarik Skubal took the loss for the Tigers, dropping his record to 6-3 on the season. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits. Michael Pineda went 7 innings for the Twins, earning his 8th win of the season.

Mazara opened the scoring in the second, with a two run home run. Miguel Sano tied it in the 4th, with a two run shot of his own. Max Kepler untied the game with a solo home run in the 6th. Two batters later, Josh Donaldson put the Twins up 5-2 with a two run home run, chasing the starter Skubal. Mazara got the Tigers within a run in the 7th, with a solo shot, but that is as close as the Tigers would get. Kyle Dutcher grounded into a double play to end the game.

The loss drops the Tigers record to 81-13. The second place Twins improve to 58-36.
