TIGERS 12 PIRATES 1 APRIL 20, 2021

BOX SCORE: Tigers 12 Pirates 1

Akil Baddoo doubled twice, and drove in 5 runs, as the Tigers trounced the visiting Pirates 12-1. Robbie Grossman and Jeimer Candelario homered.

Kyle Dutcher went 7 2/3 innings to earn his third win of the season. He allowed just a run on 3 hits, striking out 9. He also drove in two runs.

Mitch Keller took the loss for the Pirates, lasting just 4 innings, allowing 5 runs.

TIGERS 7 PIRATES 5 APRIL 21, 2021

BOX SCORE: Tigers 7 Pirates 5

Kyle Dutcher hit a pinch hit, 3 run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning, as the Tigers walked off the Pirates 7-5. Tarik Skubal went 7 innings, allowing just 3 runs, striking out 8.

Robbie Grossman tied the game at 4 with a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning. The Pirates took a 5-4 lead in the 10th, on a sac fly to center by Kevin Newman. With Akil Baddoo starting on second, JaCoby Jones drew a walk off of Pirate closer Richard Rodriguez, putting runners on first and second. Rodriguez got Robbie Grossman to strike out, and then Dutcher, pinch hitting for Niko Goodrum, launched a 3 run home run over the left field fence, for his first career walk off home run.

TIGERS 4 PIRATES 3 APRIL 22, 2021

BOX SCORE: Tigers 4 Pirates 3

The Tigers walked off the Pirates for the second consecutive night, winning 4-3 on an RBI single to center off the bat of Wilson Ramos. Miguel Cabrera and the red hot JaCoby Jones also had RBI for the Tigers. After a slow start, Jones is now hitting .389 with 16 RBI.

Jose Urena went the first 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. He walked 2 while striking out 4. Still, the Tigers trailed 3-0 when he left the game. The Tigers scratched out a run in the bottom of the 8th off of starter Chad Kuhl, when Cabrera singled home Robbie Grossman.
The Tigers would tie the game in the 9th. With one out, Kyle Dutcher doubled off of Pirate closer Richard Rodriguez. He would come home when Akil Baddoo lined a ball under the glove of Pirate first baseman Colin Moran. JaCoby Jones then doubled Baddoo home to tie the game.
In the 10th, with one out, Wilson Ramos singled to center, driving in pinch runner Victor Reyes for the win. Tyler Alexander pitched a scoreless 9th and 10th innings to record the victory.
