Another Extra-Innings Walk-Off HR Gives Angels Series Sweep

The Texas Rangers can't wait to get out of Anaheim after blowing another lead in late innings Thursday and watching another walk-off home run sail out of the park in extras, this time off the bat of Kole Calhoun, as the Angels completed a three-game sweep.

Texas (2-7) came from behind for the second straight day and for the second straight game held a lead after the seventh inning but couldn't hold onto it. The Angels tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth on an Albert Pujols sacrifice fly after runners had moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.

Calhoun's walk-off, two-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the 10th after Ben Revere reached on an infield popup single. Texas reliever Keone Kela (0-1) fell behind Calhoun 3-0, delivered a changeup for strike one, and not wanting to walk the winning run into scoring position, threw a fastball on the inner half & lower third of the plate, which Calhoun scooped out of the park over the right-center field wall.

The Rangers have now been swept in two of their first three series of the year (Cleveland) and next travel to AL West foe Seattle for their first meeting of the year.
