Angels Emerge Victorious Wild Back-and-Forth Game For Bullsh*t Victory
Posted on July 11, 2018 at 02:57 AM.
12 total runs were scored in the last three innings of regulation with two lead changes, two ties and three home runs to boot in just those three innings, but it was the Los Angeles Angels (and the CPU) who weaseled their way to a series-clinching 10-9 walk-off victory in 15 innings over the Texas Rangers Wednesday.

The Rangers (2-6) had 18 hits Wednesday, including 3 home runs - 2 from Rougned Odor and the second of the year from Mike Napoli. But that wasn't enough. Tyson Ross widely outpitched his starting counterpart Andrew Heaney, getting into the 7th inning and striking out 7 with no walks. But that wasn't enough.

Texas had taken a 4-0 lead through the top of the 6th, but the Angels went to work to come back in the Bottom of the 6th and continued to do WHATEVER it took to ensure they got the victory Wednesday. Let's take a look at some of the RIDICULOUS, CONVENIENT things the CPU-controlled Angels did to "earn" the win, which was clinched with a Luis Valbuena walk-off, opposite-field HR with one out in the 15th ::
  • With Texas leading 4-0, Mike Trout doubled home 2 runs in the 6th. The Angels got 2 leadoff singles by their No. 9 and No. 1 hitters, but everyone around Trout (2, 4 & 5 hitters) all struck out. But OF COURSE he got a 2 run double, making it 4-2.
  • In the Bottom 7th, Cowart strikes out looking but reaches on a passed ball (would've been 2 outs, 0 on, now its 1 out & 1 on). So OF COURSE the very next batter doubles and he scores from 1st, making it 4-3.
  • I bring in a reliever (Matt Bush) in the 7th to get out of this tight jam (tying run on 2nd, 1 out). He strikes out the 1st guy he faces -- Well *THAT'S* not OK, so suddenly the computer makes him stricken with an elbow injury and I have to pull him. Next guy grounds to 3rd but in my frustration I've forgotten there's no one on 1st (just 2nd), so I throw the ball to 2nd thinking I'll turn 2, but instead Ben Revere is just safe at 1st and now there's runners on the corners w/ 2 outs.
  • So I get the next guy (Kole Calhoun) to hit another groundball, but instead of letting me out of this quietly, he "singles" (OF COURSE it's not an error, even though it was hit RIGHT. AT. the fielder and it hit off of him) as the ball deflects off of my SS and into CF, scoring the guy from 3rd and tying the game at 4-4.
  • And HERE'S THE ADDITIONAL KICKER -- I get the ball back into the infield, throwing to 2nd base. But instead of just killing the action and moving on to the next screen as there is no movement and the ball is being held, the CPU keeps it *LIVE*, and runs 92-speed Ben Revere from third to score the go-ahead run, making it 5-4, literally while I'm STANDING THERE with the ball at 2nd base, waiting for the game to go to the next screen, as it ***ALWAYS*** does
  • Napoli hits a 2-run HR in the Top 8th, righteously giving me back a 6-5 lead. But of course, Not To Be OutDone... the computer hits a 1-out triple, then SUICIDE SQUEEZES him home to tie it again at 6-6
  • OK, now... I score **3** runs in the Top 9th. I'm good, right?? Another 2-run HR and an RBI single, all with 2 outs. So I'm again righteously ahead at 9-6 with just 3 outs to go. I'm good, right?
  • ~~NOPE~~. Let's see if we can just GUESS what happened -- Let's see, 1-out double by Revere, ANOTHER 1-out double by Calhoun makes it 9-7, and then of-F**KING COURSE... 2-run, game-tying home run by Trout. Thanks for coming.
  • At that point, I played out what I could in the next 6 innings, but I was never gonna win that game in extra innings. Had a few hits but never really threatened.
