I just don't know what to do
Posted on June 17, 2011 at 11:13 PM.
This is my first blog so sorry if it is shoddy.

I am huge sports fan. When I'm not thinking about sports, I think about sports video games! I like almost every sport, but can only really follow a couple because those are the ones I like the most. I love basketball the most, but then I seem to like alot more equally. This is where it gets tough when I can really only get about 1 or 2 sports games at a given time, because I have to trade in games if I am not playing them! But here is my problem.

Their are so many good looking games coming out in the next few months, and I can't get them all. The ones I have really singled down to are NBA 2k12, madden 12, and FIFA 12. Now I might be able to get two of those, but I am one of those fans where I hear something about a team a like, I want to play that game corresponding to the sport.

I will explain why I really like the sports so you guys could help me decide. I had NBA 2k11, but traded it in. I liked it, but got really tired of it because I don't really like the association mode. 2k12 should be awesome though, and there is an even more incentive because I want to play with Rubio and my timberpuppies.
The reason why I have FIFA 12 is because I have FIFA 10 world cup and it is fun, but I am afraid I am going to get tired of it soon Cause it's just the world cup. FIFA 12 sounds promising with all the new features, and would be a good choice. I have been following the USA in the gold cup and it is fun watching it.

And their is madden.... I have had an off and on relationship with that series. I feel like the most recent releases have been very poor. I haven't liked the gameplay and cruddy player models. But the reason I bring up 12 is because it looks good. It is something that has been missed in this series, great presentation. I am a football fan but not die hard.

This Is a really tough desicion, I know FIFA would be a smart choice, I am iffy about madden but it looks awesome, and 2k12 looks alright. Any ideas????????

Thanks!

I would say FIFA 12 first as the collision physics really look to have changed the game. I don't even really follow soccer but I am tempted to pick it up.

I bought NBA 2K11 and I am really enjoying it but I would wait till the full feature list before I made a decison on checking it out, more than likely I will stick with 2K11.

In regards to Madden 12, it looks promising but I would wait for the reviews.

Rent or wait to buy used. Madden is looking good but if you arent a diehard fan then I would wait. FIFA is a great choice. I enjoyed NBA 2K 11 but I got bored with it but that is just me talking. Why not give NHL 12 a look. The series is one of EA's best.

I have always looked at the NHL series. I will try to get madden out of my head because I just cant really get into it. If I was going to look at a madden, I might look at 08. For some reason it was really fun and looked great

On sports that I follow less I buy the year earlier versions since it won't make much of a difference in rosters etc. I am getting Madden 12 this year, NBA 2k11, and NHL 11 I will get 3 games for $100 I might take advantage of the buy 2 get one free this week @ Gamestop and get NHL 11, NBA 2k11, and Tiger Woods 12 all used its all about getting the most game for less $$$

That's a great idea but I cant seem to get a couple games at once. I have to get one, play it, get another, play it. And I don't want to have too many games. It feels like I don't have enough time to play all of them at the same time and enjoy it.

get NBA 2k12 since you like b'ball the most then wait for the reviews or rent the other two to decide... me personally i would pick madden but im a die hard madden fan

This is why NBA 2K and Madden/NCAA still effectively DO have competition even though they are the sole game producer currently in that respective sport.

I agree. The reality is they still compete for my hard earned money and time. Especially since the reality for me and my group of buddies, since NCAA 2009 first debuted Online Dynasty now that we finally had a feature set that was conducive to long term play with a fluctuating # of coaches, we became very locked into our 1 single Online Dynasty.

All of a sudden my NBA 2K and Madden were just collecting dust. I don't have as much time as I use to so the 1-2 hours a night I can play are going to my Online Dynasty.

We want to migrate to NBA 2K or Madden. But the reality for us is we simply won't consider them until they have fully operational Online Career Modes just like NCAA Online Dynasty.

Madden looks like it may have dropped the ball again this year and NBA 2K is under a rock in this department.

So, NCAA 12 here we come again I suppose. With all the new features though we are pretty excited to start our new dynasty.

My point being get the game that suites what you will be doing most, long term. That way you get your $'s worth.

Could try renting them all first and make a more informed choice. Or demos too
