Jared Goff threw for 361 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and D'Andre Swift rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns, as the Lions concluded their home portion of the schedule with a 40-3 drubbing of the Chicago Bears. With the win, the Lions improve to 16-0, with one game remaining.

Charles Harris added a pair of sacks, and Aiden Hutchinson added to his historic rookie season with another sack. The Lion defense forced a pair of Bear fumbles. Detroit held the Bears to just 219 total yards.

The Lions will conclude their season next week in Green Bay against the 10-6 Packers. The Packers have clinched a playoff berth. Game time is 1:00 PM

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE

In the NFC, the Lions have wrapped up the #1 seed. The Rams and Buccaneers have clinched their divisions, and the #2 and #2 seeds respectively. The Packers and Cowboys have also clinched playoff spots. Two spots remain up for grabs, as does the NFC East Division. The Cowboys currently hold the lead in the NFC East at 10-6, but the Eables (9-7) are just a game back. The Eagles and 49ers (8-8) hold the final two Wild Card spots, but the Panthers (8-8) are still in the hunt. The Panthers are at the Saints. The Eagles host the Giants, the Cowboys are in Washington, and the 49ers host the Cardinals.

AFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
In the AFC, the Bengals and Chiefs have clinched their divisions and are vying for the #1 seed. Both teams are 13-3. The Chiefs play in Las Vegas, while the Bengals are home against the Ravens.

The other two divisions are up for grabs yet, as are the three Wild Card spots. Currently, the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers are tied at 10-6, and hold the three Wild Card spots. In the AFC South, the Colts lead it at 8-8, with Houston and Tennessee both at 7-9, but with a chance to win the division. The Bills lead the AFC East at 9-7, with the Dolphins and Patriots still in the hunt at 8-8. The Ravens and Brown (both 9-7) are also in the Wild Card hunt.

Games with playoff implications are the New England at Buffalo, Houston at Indianapolis, Tennessee at Jacksonville, The Jets at Miami, Cleveland at Pittsburgh, LA Chargers at Denver, Kansas City at Las Vegas, and Baltimore at Cincinnati.

The Lions blew another double digit 4th quarter lead, but found a way to rally and pull out a win, to move to remain unbeaten at 15-0. Following a blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown by DeShon Ellis, the Lions entered the 4th quarter with a 22-10 lead. But a pair of 4th quarter Panther touchdowns moved them in front 25-22 with 4:50 left in the game. Following a Panther missed field goal, the Lions got the ball back with just over 2 minutes left in the game. Jared Goff drove them down the field and found D'Andre Swift from 4 yards out for a touchdown, putting the Lions up 29-25 with 53 seconds left in the game. The Defense was able to hold on.

Goff finished the game going 27/35 for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns. Swift added 54 yards on 16 carries. Jameson Williams caught 7 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Alex Anzalone had 12 tackles. Aiden Hutchinson and Charles Harris had a sack apiece. There were no turnovers in the game.

Baker Mayfield was 32/47 for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Panthers. The Lions held Christian McCaffrey to just 61 yards on 15 carries. Rashard Higgins had 11 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions are home next week, as they will host the 4-11 Chicago Bears. The Bears are coming off a 32-17 loss on the road to the Buffalo Bills. They had won their previous two games over likely playoff teams in Green Bay and Philadelphia. Game time is 1:00 PM

The Detroit Lions have clinched their first ever NFC North Division title, with a 34-3 win over the New York Jets in New York. This is the Lions first Division title since 1993, when they were then a member of the NFC Central division.

Jared Goff threw for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. D'Andre Swift had 81 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Jamaal Williams added 48 yards on 11 carries. T.J. Hockenson caught 7 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. Jameson Williams and D.J. Chark also had touchdown catches for the Lions.

Aiden Hutchinson had 2 more sacks, bringing his season total to 19, two and a half behind league leader Nick Bosa (21.5). Derrick Barnes also had a pair of sacks. Tracy Walker, and DeShon Elliott had interceptions.

The Lions (14-0) are two games ahead of the Los Angeles Rams (12-2) in the battle for the #1 seed in the NFC Playoffs, with three weeks to go.

Next week, the Lions head to Carolina, to face the 8-6 Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are in a battle for the final Wild Card spot, while just a game behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South. The Panthers are tied with the 49ers, Cowboys, and Eagles at 8-6. The Cowboys and Eagles are vying for the NFC East Division. The Cowboys host the Eagles this week.

Because of Christmas being Sunday, the Lions and Panters will play at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 24th.

The Lions built up a 21-10 Halftime lead, then increased it to 28-10 after three quarters. But a pair of Jared Goff turnovers allowed the Vikings to get to within three points early in the 4th Quarter. However, Goff would find T.J. Hockenson from 10 yards out, to put the Lions back up by 10 with just under 7 minutes left. The Vikings got a field goal with 3:32 left to cut it to a one score game, but the Lions were able to pick up enough first downs to wind down the clock.

Goff finished the day going 33/40 for 393 yards and 4 Touchdowns, with one interception. Goff continues to thrive in Offensive Coordinator Kyle Dutcher's offense. Goff has 3685 yards on the year, (6th in the NFL) with 27 touchdowns (7th in the NFL) and only 6 interceptions. His 114.1 QBR is tops in the league, .1 ahead of Matthew Stafford.

Amon-Ra St. Brown had 10 catches for 151 yards. Jameson Williams added 6 catches for 85 yards, and three touchdowns. D'Andre Swift had 85 yards on 19 carries, and one touchdown.

Alex Anzalone led the defense with 9 tackles. Charles Harris, and Levi Onwuzurike each had a sack.

The Lions head to New York next week, to take on the 3-10 Jets. The Jets are coming off of a 28-23 loss in Buffalo. Game time is 1:00 PM

Despite a few miscues, the Detroit Lions defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-14 Sunday, to remain unbeaten at 12-0. Jared Goff threw for 392 yards, but fumbled twice. D'Andre Swift rushed for 74 yards on 17 carries, but was held in check for most of the game, though he did add 6 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jamaal Williams had a pair of touchdown runs. Jameson Williams had 8 catches for 179 yards, but had a big drop in the end zone on a drive that the Lions eventually failed to score on 4th down.

The Defense was stellar yet again, limiting the Jaguars to 217 yards of offense, 166 passing, and 51 on the ground. Aiden Hutchinson had another 2.5 sacks. Malcolm Rodrigues had 7 tackles and a sack.

The Lions host the 3-9 Minnesota Vikings next week at Ford Field. The Vikings are coming off of a 31-27 win over the New York Jets, in which Dalvin Cook rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Lions won the first meeting with the Vikings 38-17. Game time is 1:00 PM

The Lions held the Buffalo Bills to just 219 yards of offense, and forced three Josh Allen turnovers, in a dominating 45-10 win on Thanksgiving. With the win, the Lions improve to 11-0.

D'Andre Swift led the way on offense with 129 yards on 22 carries, scoring three times. Jamaal Williams added 50 yards on 11 carries, and a touchdown. Jared Goff threw for 268 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. Jameson Williams caught 8 passes for 93 yards and both touchdowns.

Defensively, the Lions were paced by Aiden Hutchinson, who had 2.5 sacks. Malcolm Rodrigues and Charles Harris had 1.5 sacks each. Tracy Walker, and DeShon Elliott had interceptions.

Next week, the Lions will host the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are 2-9 following their 35-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Game time will be 1:00 PM. Jacksonville will be without DE Dawuane Smoot, and LB Jordan Smith.

The Lions defense dominated yet again on Sunday in New York, forcing three Giant turnovers, and scoring another defensive touchdown, en route to a 44-11 victory over the hapless Giants. With the win, the Lions improve to 10-0, while the Giants fell to 1-9.

Jared Goff threw three more touchdown passes, giving him 20 on the season. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 7 passes ofr 94 yards, and a pair of touchdowns, and T.J. Hockenson added a touchdown catch.

Aiden Hutchinson had a pair of sacks, and returned a fumble for a touchdown. DeShon Elliott, and Jeff Okudah had interceptions.

Detroit has a short week this week, as they will play their annual Thanksgiving Day game Thursday against the 7-3 Buffalo Bills. The Bills are coming off of a 35-28 loss to the Cleveland Browns, in which the Bills could muster just 56 yards on the ground.

Josh Allen is having another great year, throwing for 2727 yards, 27 Touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions. The Bills will be without receiver Jamison Crowder, who is out with a toe injury. Game time will be 12:30 PM.

Aiden Hutchinson is a beast. The Bears found out first hand on Sunday. With both starting HB David Montgomery, and backup Khalil Herbert injured and inactive, the Lion defense pinned their ears back and went after Bears QB Justin Fields. The result was seven sacks, and a lot of checkdowns. Hutchinson paced the attack with a career high 4 sacks, giving him 10 on the season. He is fast becoming a dominating force on the defensive line. The Lions forced 4 fumbles, though all were recovered by the Bears, and picked off Fields once. They held the Bears to under 300 yards of offense.

Offensively, Jared Goff was outstanding yet again. He threw for 308 yards, and a pair of touchdowns, one to rookie Jameson Williams, and another to Amon-Ra St. Brown. D'Andre Swift carried the ball 26 times for 99 yards and a touchdown. Williams had 5 catches for 85 yards.

Next week, the Lions travel to New York to face the 1-8 Giants. The Giants have lost their last 8 games, including a 43-26 drubbing at the hands of the Houston Texans last week. Game time is 1:00 PM
