TIGERS (53-11) WIN THREE OF FOUR VS WHITE SOX
Tarik Skubal (11-1) tossed 7 shutout innings, as the Tigers beat the WHite Sox 8-0. Skubal allowed just 4 hits, and struck out 8. Jake Rogers (4) and Javier Baez (4) hit home runs. Baez drove in 5 runs. Rogers drove in 2.
The Tigers wasted a really good Jack Flaherty (6-2) outing, as they dropped the game 2-1. Flaherty allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, taking the loss. The lone Tiger run came on a Kyle Dutcher RBI single.
Detroit rebounded to take game three 7-1. Reese Olson (5-1) allowed no runs on just one hit over 6 innings, striking out 10. Riley Greene (8) homered and drove in 2. Kerry Carpenter also drove in 2 runs.
Detroit won the final game by a 5-1 score. Kyle Dutcher, and Parker Meadows had 2 RBI each, Jake Rogers also had an RBI. Casey Mize started, but had to leave the game after three innnigs with an abdominal strain. He is listed as day to day, and the hope is he will avoid an I.L. stint.
UP NEXT
The Tigers head back home, where they will host the N.L. Central leading Chicago Cuts (37-15) in a three game series. Following that, the Tigers will have an off day, then head to Baltimore for a three game series against the A.L. East leading Orioles (38-24)
