STRONG SECOND HALF PROPELS LIONS TO 38-21 WIN IN NEW ENGLAND

It was the tale of two halfs Sunday in New England. The Lions and the Patriots engaged in a defensive battle in the first half, that turned into a high scoring second half. The Lions led the game 10-6 at halftime. New England got a field goal to bring it to 10-9 early in the second half. D.J. Chark scored on a 13 yard pass from Jared Goff to give the Lions a 17-9 lead. The Patriots came right back, scoring on a Jonnu Smith 27 yard touchdown catch. New England missed the 2 point conversion, and trailed 17-15.
The Lions scored on the final play of the third quarter when Goff hit Jameson Williams from 4 yards out to put the Lions up 24-15. The Patriots then drove down the field and looked to put one in the end zone, but Amani Oruwariye picked off a Mac Jones pass on the 1 yard line, and raced down the field for a 99 yard interception return touchdown, and a 31-15 lead. It was Oruwariye's 3rd interception on the season, and his second pick-6.
The Patriots got closer on a 47 yard touchdown pass from Jones to Nelson Agholor, but again missed the 2 point conversion, making it 31-21 Lions. The Lions drove down the field, and put the game out of reach when Goff again found Jameson Williams for a 6 yard touchdown.
On the day, Goff was 24/35 for 290 yards and 4 touchdowns, his best performance of the season. Mac Jones went 30/45 for 375 yards and a pair of touchdowns, with one interception. D'Andre Swift led the Lions rushing attack with 63 yards on 15 carries. Jamaal Williams added 44 yards on 6 carries. For the Patriots, Damien Harris had 80 yards on 21 carries.
T.J. Hockenson had 8 receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown. Jameson Williams had 7 catches for 78 yards and 2 Touchdowns. D.J. Chark had 2 catches for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, the Lions were paced by Malcom Rodriguez who had 11 tackles, and a sack. Alex Anzelone also had 11 tackles.
The Lions have a bye week next week, then head to Dallas for a Week 7 game against the Cowboys (currently 3-2) That is a 1PM game.
