Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Trailer Stuck

Yesterday, Nintendo released its latest trailer for Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

The trailer revealed many of the game's 24 total events, promising that two-thirds will be real Olympic sports, while the final third will feature sensationalized or made-up competitions.

16 Olympic Events

Speed Skating
Figure Skating
Downhill Skiing
Downhill Snowboarding
Ski Jump
Snowboard Slopestyle
Curling
Luge
Biathlon

8 "Over the Top" Dream Events

Bobsledding
Cross-Country Mixed Event (Skiing, Snowboard, Bobsled)
Ice Hockey

Nintendo has also confirmed that Olympic levels will take place in Sochi, whereas the Dream Events are held in Mario- and Sonic-themed worlds, such as Delfino Plaza (Ice Hockey) or Speed Highway (Bobsledding).

Gameplay will require both the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remote MotionPlus. Curling, for example, has the player "scraping" on the GamePad screen to guide the stone down the ice. Other competitions like the Biathlon (shown below in the May announcement trailer), promise to use both controllers simultaneously.

The character roster, divided into "Team Sonic" and "Team Mario," thus far includes:

Though the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics won't actually begin until February 7, 2014, Nintendo currently plans to release its latest Mario & Sonic sports title this November.
