Taking over as coach of the Saints is New Orleans native Downth Eirthroats. Coach Eirthroats will also be in charge of player personnel, an astounding responsibility for a coach who has never spent time in the NFL.
"We are setting up a system that will keep this team viable for years to come. We're only looking for the best players, guys that will fit our system and can come in and learn the playbook and contribute to what we want to do."
Eirthroats noted that he is running an offense based around Mike Shanahan's zone blocking scheme, built on establishing the run, and a Tampa 2 defense that will mimic the 2002 Bucs.
"We're evaluating the players that are in-house right now. We'll make decisions on these guys in the upcoming months and try to build a roster full of talent that fits our scheme."
