I was reading up on Ben PerLee's preview for NBA2K11 this morning. Im really impressed by 2K Sports. I think they really put out quality games with attention to detail and presentation polish. Here is a paragraph for the preview of NBA2K11, as written by Ben:
"First, lets talk polish. When the developers first went about making NBA 2K11 more polished, they started with the cameras. All the angles now support truer broadcast shots, so now you will never play from an angle that is not true to how viewers watch the games themselves. After working through the cameras, players' faces were redesigned, and special focus was placed upon the small details. If a player has a special tic that he always does, or if he always wears a sock a certain way, that's how the game will represent him."
I cant tell you how excited I am to see this game in action. Proper camera angles are vital to immersion for me. EA seems to lack the ability to mimic true telecast quality because they don’t polish their camera systems in their games. I think Madden looks A LOT better this year, but still not quite “broadcast”. San Diego Studios, the makers of MLB The Show have also done a fantastic job with camera angles. The addition of “broadcast” cameras for fielding really give that series an authentic look while you’re playing, or watching.
The NBA is probably my least favorite major sport, but a game like this can draw me in and make me fall in love with it. This happened to me with Madden in the early 2000s and MLB more recently with The Show. I wish all developers spent more time bringing TRUE broadcast quality production (cameras, halftime shows, highlights and commentary) to their games. This is what defines immersion.

I cant wait to see the halftime show stuff for this game. The gameplay videos look amazing. The presentation is spot on. Great commentary. I hope they employ an NFL2K5 kind of halftime in this game.
