The Aftermath of Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo
Posted on December 17, 2015 at 11:11 PM.

No one in the sport of mixed martial arts is better at talking trash about their opponents than Conor McGregor. It is a good job for the Irishman that he can back it up through his outstanding skill in the octagon.

After a year in the making, McGregor finally took on Jose Aldo in UFC 194 on Saturday night. Aldo was undefeated in 10 years and many though McGregor had bitten off more than he can chew. Before the fight, the Irishman was telling reporters how he was going to knock-out the Champion in the first round. No one took McGregor`s vow seriously as Aldo has never been knocked out and has been the champion of the featherweight division since the start of the UFC. Before the fight, free bets sites had Mcgregor the slight favorite to win, but no one could have predicted how it came about.

True to his words though McGregor sparked out Aldo inside 13 seconds of the first round. Just as he predicted he landed a left hook to the former champion's jaw sending him crashing down onto the canvas. Aldo laid motionless, and McGregor finished it off with hammer fists before the referee stopped the fight.

During the post-fight press conference, McGregor said: “I said his right hand would get him into trouble, I said he would overload on his right hand. I said if he overloads on his right hand I will hit him with my left hook and that’s exactly what happened.”

It is very rare in sport that an athlete delivers on their promises. Many come out with statements but very few are able to back them up with results. It is what makes McGregor special and anyone who has put free bets on his vows has made a tidy profit.

Hardly anyone delivers exactly what they promise. Plenty of athletes talk. They make silly promises. They say the will make great plays they don’t make. They say they will beat opponents they don’t beat. They say they will lead their teams to victories that never come. Next time McGregor fights punters will be looking for free bet offers on what the Irishman predicts will happen.

Many fighters in the UFC despite McGregor due to his constant bragging and put downs of other fighters. He uses a rich vocabulary to great effect and mentally wears his opponents out before they even step in the cage. His arrogance appeals to many but also gets the backs up of many fans. He is a fighter that you either love or hate. What every your opinion of the Irishman you can not doubt his exceptional talent.

The result against the pound for pound king leaves McGregor in a fantastic position to control his future. It is likely that he will move up a weight class in his next fight to try to claim the 155-pound belt. It is worth looking for free bet offers to put money on the Irish fighter to make this.
