NCAA 11: Mountain West for your Dynasty?

San Diego State is an interesting challenge because the school lacks tradition but it has access to California recruits.

I agree. When is the last time someone took a challenge by picking someone like SDSU in a dynasty to build them up to a higher level?

I've never used SDSU but I've used a created Teambuilder school located in San Diego. I start out in the MWC and try to get a Pac-10 invite.

To me, that's the dream we can live out on NCAA 11. It's difficult to ignore the temptation of winning an instant championship, but there's a lot of pride in building someone from the dirt up.

I always take a bad/below average team and try to build them up into a contender. I like games that are hard to win. Also, recruiting is more difficult. I usually go with Fresno State or Idaho. The only set back to the non-BCS conferences is usually a lack of selection for bowl games.

I like to play by a "set of rules" where I switch to a team that is a 3* after I win a national championship. I build one up, get the title, then switch to another building project. Needless to say, by the time the 60 years is up, the conference landscape and mix of "power" teams is rather interesting.

I always plan on leaving and starting a new project team but, by the time I get really good with them I don't want to leave.

I used to be the same way but I made up some "rules" to follow where I have to leave after a championship and can't take over a school that's higher than a 3*

Yeah I'm very similar about that jmik58. I usually stay a bit longer with the team I won the nat'l champ with because it is realistic. Like, one or two years after. But hopefully with the difficulty of recruiting being increased, maybe we will have our own ups and downs with the same program?

Call me a glutton for punishment, but there's something pure and exciting about being axed from a job in NCAA. Then you get to sit back and watch the team you left; win with your recruits. It gives a nice grudge to fall back on when non-conference scheduling rolls around

Well, its more like the fact that a winning coach would try and repeat with his recruits, and then you could pretend that you got a massive offer from some struggling team to turn the program around.

A problem I have with realism is the fact that I have never been worried about not making a bowl game, even in a massively user-controlled online dynasty. So its almost like, guaranteeing the school 8 wins.
