Without a question, his skill is worth whatever "drama" follows him.
Consider his 12-13 statline: 17.1 PPG, 12.4 RPG, 2.4 BLKPG, 1.1 STLPG; .578 FG%, 4.7-9.5 FTM-A at 49%.
These numbers are right in line with his career averages. His 17 PPG and 58% shooting was good for 6th and 2nd in the NBA for centers, respectively. He led the NBA in rebounding and def. rebounding, and was tied for 8th in off. rebounding with 3.3 per game. He also finished 3rd in blocks per game. There's a reason he's being pursued so aggressively.
Now, I don't really know how much of an issue his free throw shooting is. Consider this: the last two years, where he's had back issues, he's also shot under 50%. Every year before that, he's basically been at 60%. I think that given how much he actually gets to the line, it's not as big of an issue.

That being said, I think Atlanta can snag him if they go about Free Agency the right way. I think they have the money to go after Dwight and a G like Tyreke Evans to pair with him. IT would also allow ATL to shift Horford to PF where he can focus more on scoring, and they could fill the team with shooters like Kyle Korver; Howard was most successful when he had shooters around him and he could get one-on-one matchups inside.
But, who knows. I just think he won't go back to LA unless they can equip their roster with better, younger pieces.

Dwight Howard is worried about one thing...himself. Players now days are way to selfish and he is at the top of the list.

Yeah the statline looks great on resume, but he is no longer a player that wants to contend for a championship. Where was those averages during the playoffs without Kobe? This guy has become the new face of overrated players in the NBA. This guy has everyone fooled.

ha ha don't forget he led orlando to the finals just a few years ago and he's still under 30. with his back he's probably got 3-4 good years left so Houston better stack up and make a run for the title while they can...

Omer needs to keep his starting roles and rockets need to save that 20 mill in space as much as possible.
