Turkey Day
Posted on November 27, 2008 at 09:33 AM.
About time, I've been waiting for this day for about a week. It's nice to see old friends and family I haven't seen since July when NCAA football came out. Here are the top four questions I get whilst eating at the dinner table:

1. So, what have you been up to?
Working, playing the plethora of EA games released in the past 5 months

2. Find anyone to settle down with yet? (Family is BIG on marriages)
I'm waiting, you guys taught me that patience is a virtue. Isn't patience the essence of procrastination?

3. What are your goals for next year? (Family is big on goal-setting)
Take Notre Dame to the promise land in NCAA Football '10 in an online dynasty. Restore G-Town as a Big East powerhouse, and finally hope to see you people next year, some of you are really OLD...

4. What goals did you accomplish this year?
Not much, dated an Irish girl for 4 months, as if they aren't hard to come by. Lead Irish HB James Aldridge to a Heisman Trophy campaign. Graduated with a Journalism degree. Let's see, I was in a wedding...as the last groomsman and didn't go home alone that night. I say it's been a pretty successful year, aunts and uncles.

Usually the argument, er, discussion leads to my Mother throwing tidbits in to show how well she has raised me. You know the comments like, "He has interviews everywhere!" and "He's taking things slow with the ladies, aren't you Jimmy?"

Usually I counter with how good the food is, and ask more pressing questions like, "Which is better, light or dark meat?" Which will get them off my case for awhile.

I love family, I love the atomsphere they bring, the food is amazing, and life can't get much better when you combine those three with kicking your cousin's *expletive* in every title you own. Nevermind that he's only 10-years old, his parents should have taught him to respect his elders a little better.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who reads this! To those who will never read this, I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with awkward questions...jerks!

Been there about the pestering from the family. I'm not sure who was happier I got married - me or my mom lol. Funny read.
