I finally made the plunge, crossed the line, jumped ship, and saw the light...I was finally fed up with the problems plaguing Microsoft's golden child the Xbox 360 and made my way over to the big boys at Sony.
I'm absolutely in love with my PS3, free online (for now), better controller, and running 1080p with Assassin's Creed 2. This system is more user-friendly and to prove it I loaded up NHL 10 and said to myself, "I wonder if I could get some really good rosters for this game?" So I hopped on OS and came across mattg's remix rosters and a very easy list of instructions as to how to get them on to my PS3. Five minutes later, I was playing with some awesome rosters...Something I couldn't fathom without buying extra equipment like with the Xbox 360.
Generic flash drive- $8 (Can use for anything)
Datel XPort 360- $40 (Only made/used for/with the Xbox 360)
Again saved myself another $30 AND I can use the flash drive with ANY PC...
There are many things I'm looking forward to in the next couple months like, for the first time ever I'll be able to try out the MLB: The Show series. Putting Netflix on my PS3 and using my first Blu-Ray player are exciting endeavors. Saving $50 on my online costs (for now) will help too.
All in all, M$ is out of my life like a ex-girlfriend who you tried to forget, you'll always have fond memories. M$ I'll never forget the time I hit 10,000 GP, played NHL 09 with my best friend (moved away to take a great job) online, and when I took you and your games to Gamestop to trade you in for a shiny PS3 and 2 great games all for $50. Thank you for the memories Xbox 360.
NOW IT'S GET THE REAL GAMING STARTED!!!

You'll also want to use your PS3 to watch DVDs. It upscales them to 1080i/p for you. Makes 'em a look a LOT better, especially if you have a big screen TV like me (65").

I may switch back to the PS3! I got caught up in the M$ hype about the online being so much better etc. and it hasn't done anything better than the PS3 I had yet!

As a gamer, it's always nice to see more potential competition on my console of choice. Welcome to the fold.
I think you'll enjoy the PS3 experience. There's a lot to do and the vast majority is free. And you can't really beat watching a movie or playing a game in full HD... Priceless...

My fondest memories of gaming were on the PS2, I'm not sure why I went to Xbox. I think it was because my wealthy friend would give me all his old games/peripherals when he was done with them. He made good on his promises so it was worth it.
I never thought I'd miss the PS controller, but this thing is MUCH better than the M$ controller. I'm happy with this decision through and through, may Xbox RIP in my heart

Great choice! Can't beat the value of the system along with the reliability. The Show is a great baseball game too.

I did the same thing last summer. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I've said all along, these XBOX360 fanboys don't know what they're missing. To be honest, it's fine with me; less people clogging the PSN servers. Unless you make the switch, congrats!

Boy did I give waaaaay too much of my time and money M$ for their crap system. I'm so excited for The Show! There isn't an Xbox-exclusive I'm really looking forward to so I think this is one of the better decisions I've ever made...

gamer23 is that you Bill Gates? Don't be mad that I switched over, I was a diehard loyal customer for almost 4 years and you took a lot of my money, sold me a faulty product, told me it was fixed and it broke yet again. You made me pay $100 to get a fixed a second time, made me pay for internet to watch my netflix THAT I ALREADY BOUGHT!!!! Oh and you almost sold me on a HD-DVD failure, funny thing I had to buy an ADD-ON if I wanted it.
So excuse me gamer23 for being happy with a decision and letting people know that Xbox isn't as great as they make it seem. The more cost-effective console out there is the PS3, while MS likes to wring every bit of money out of you and really locks up the console. I feel like the PS3 lets you explore the console, lets you use existing media (flash drives), makes it much easier to customize.
An example of easier customization is NHL10 and a music pack I d/l'd from OS. First, I did downloaded it a few months ago to use for my Xbox and it took me a good day's work to get it working. First I need to burn each playlist to a CD, so I wasted about 5 CDs. Second, I had to download each CD to my Xbox HD and then make playlists for each. If I wanted just a song, I had a make ANOTHER PLAYLIST!!!! Terrible.
Now, for the PS3 I downloaded the playlists to my Flash Drive, downloaded that to my PS3, and started putting the songs into the song. I was playing the game an hour later unlike the Xbox, where it took me a full day to get everything together.
There you go, just on a customization standpoint PS3 won me over...Xbox you took my money for far too long...

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing. I almost did it a week ago. For some reason, I just couldnt pull the trigger.

sportsguyfl31, word of caution when you do go out and buy one, you will need to get a HDMI cable if you don't already have one. On Ebay you can find them for under $10 and you'll need to purchase a headset, which is Bluetooth compatible with the PS3 (most are). Again you can find a cheap on Ebay for under $10. Great thing about purchasing both these items is they can be used for anything! The headset can be used with your cell phone and the HDMI can be used for anything that needs an HDMI cable. Unlike Xbox where they make peripherals that only adhere to their system, Sony made so many of their peripherals can be used outside the scope of their system....How thoughtful

Thanks for the heads up on that. An HDMI cable is no toruble at all, to get. If i do this, Id probably hold off on the headset for a bit, since Im not much of a chatter box online, to begin with. I really want to play MLB "The Show", and also am interested in the better movie player and horse power. Plus in these times, if I can save some loot with online stuff...all the better. Its a really tempting proposition.
