Back on Track: Part I
Posted on February 17, 2009 at 09:02 PM.
It has been awhile since I last blogged on OS and I miss it. As expected, many newsworthy events have happened since my last entry and hopefully I can cover them over the next few days. Since Americans LOVE lists, I will throw a list up of events I am most interested in:

1.A-Roid, A-Fraud, A-“Iwasyoungandnaive” Steroid Scandal

2.MLB 2k9’s Getting Back to Basics?

3.Rebuilding the Madden Dynasty?

4.Putting EA’s NCAA College Basketball 09 on the shelf for the year

I will begin on the most overhyped and sought after story hitting the airwaves the past few weeks, Alex Rodriguez’s fall from grace. The man is an enigma and he reminds me of Michael Jackson in regards to never growing up. Being in the spotlight for so long must stunt your growth intellectually, mentally, and emotionally.

He can do no right with the amount of money he makes, his numbers will mean nothing going forward. If there was one thing I give the man it’s his willingness to talk about the fact….AFTER THE FACT. If I had to give him a review for the last two weeks it would something like this:

PROS:
-Didn’t hide the steroid claim after he was exposed
-Has a nice organic orange glow coming into the 2009 season

CONS:
-Hiding behind the fact that he was “young and naïve”
-Still looks like he doesn’t care

I, honestly, feel bad for the guy. Before you castrate me, hear me out…or read me out. In a society that governs how much we should like someone in sports buy how much money they make, it must be difficult to be A-Rod. Your best friend only tolerates you, your wife is gone with the kids, you took a chance on the Material Girl and now she wants nothing to do with you, beta carotene has filled the pores in your skin giving off a new radiant carrot glow which will hit stores EVERYWHERE next Christmas in the form of lotion.

Mr. Rodriguez you are slowly turning into Michael Jackson and it sucks because I’m a Yanks fan! Next on the list of things to do is build a ranch and dangle a baby over a railing from a balcony. By then, I’m hoping you are no longer a Yankee and live in a gated community with Jose Canseco, Roger Clemens, Kirk Radomski, Andy Pettitte, with Curt Schilling being the town watch and blogging about it.

PS- If anyone wants to join my fantasy baseball league let me know. I can give you more information if you're interested. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!!!
