Pablo Sandoval has been the Giants offensive standout so far, hitting for the best average on the team. Buster Posey, after an abysmal April, came back with an excellent May, which will hopefully continue into June. Madison Bumgarner and Matt Cain have both pitched very well, the highlight of the season so far having been Bumgarner's perfect game.
Neither of the Giants' top two minor league teams have performed well at all. The AAA Fresno Grizzlies are 23-36, and the AA Richmond Flying Squirrels are 18-39. The Giants minor league depth is some of the worst in the nation, they will likely look to shore this up with a strong draft later this month.
The Giants top prospect, SP Kyle Crick, has performed well for AAA Fresno, with a record of 6-3 and an ERA of 2.82. Another top prospect in Fresno is CF Gary Brown, who spent a bit of time with the big club in April, before being demoted in favor of Tyler Colvin. He is batting .264 with 3 HR and 2 RBI. SP Edwin Escobar was recently demoted to AA Richmond after having control problems in AAA.
