SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The Giants win streak continued Friday after a 4-0 win versus the Minnesota Twins at AT&T Park, led by Mike Kickham's surprising two-hit shutout. Kickham has continued to surprise at the major league level, as many criticized the decision of GM Brian Sabean to promote Kickham over top 50 prospect Kyle Crick to replace an injured Tim Hudson. The struggling Angel Pagan had a breakout performance going 2-4 with a double and a triple, the only player managing multiple hits for San Francisco. Hunter Pence also performed well at the plate, driving in two runs off of a sacrifice fly and a the games only home run: a solo shot to right. Nick Noonan was called up Wednesday to replace Joaquin Arias who is on the DL with a shoulder tear, and surprisingly was given the start by Bruce Bochy, over usual shortstop Brandon Crawford. Crawford's role in the lineup has been significantly decreased over the past couple of weeks, and rumors of potential deals for him are beginning to circulate. The Giants sweep of the Rockies earlier in the week, as well as this most recent win, put them in sole possession of the lead in the NL West, one game ahead of the Dodgers. This three game series finishes up Sunday, after which the Giants will stay at home to take on the shockingly strong NL Central leaders: the Chicago Cubs.
