3-Way Blockbuster Deal to Kick Off Deadline

We are just over one week away from July 31, and the rumors are flying everywhere. The Tigers, Giants, and Cardinals got together for a monster of a deal late last night!

Detroit recieves Buster Posey (SF), Sergio Romo (SF), Adam Wainwright (STL), and Jaime Garcia (STL).

San Francisco recieves Mike Minor (DET) and David Freese (DET).

St. Louis recieves Brian McCann (DET) and James Shields (DET).

The Tigers were unsure about affording to re-sign McCann. Shields was statistically the worst of the Tiger starters. Minor was not originally intended to be traded, but the Giants inquired about him. David Freese is at his peak, and trading him aligns with the new direction that the Tigers are headed in. Adam Wainwright replaces Shields in the rotation. Jaime Garcia takes the old role of Mike Minor as a spot starter, long reliever, and lefty specialist. Romo's role is unclear in an already stacked bullpen.
