An Extremely Offensive Series

Games 95-98 vs. TOR

W: 4-1
Of all things, Brandon Morrow's fastball was predictable. Brian McCann went 3-4 with 3 RBI. Ike Davis went 2-4, doubling, tripling, and scoring twice. Matt Cain pitched 8 strong innings, giving up the lone run. The Tigers played the matchups in the 9th, rather than going for the statistical save.

L: 8-6 (12)
Mike Minor learned that he is better in relief. The experimental start did not go well for him (4 IP, 5 ER, 11 H). The loss actually went to Frieri, who gave up the game-winning homer to Colby Rasmus in the 12th after hanging a curveball. Sergio Santos blew the save, when Miguel Cabrera's 2-RBI double gave the Tigers life in the bottom of the 9th. There were 41 total hits, as the Jays got the best of the Tigers.

W: 14-8
Early unearned runs opened the door for the Jays, but a 10-run 6th inning gave the Tigers more than enough. Reliever Casey Janssen failed to record an out, but he gave up 5 of those 10 in the 6th. Jose Altuve had 4 hits. Mark Trumbo doubled twice and scored thrice. JJ Hardy hit an inside-the-park home run for one of his three hits.

W: 11-1
Kyle Drabek gave up three home runs. Two belonged to Adam Jones; the other belonged to Brian McCann. Doug Fister surprisingly shut out the Jays over his 7 innings of work. Ernesto Frieri struck out all the batters he faced to close out the game.
