The Tigers couldn't wait to bat, knowing that the distance from home plate to dead center was a mere 395 feet. Nevertheless, Jair Jurrjens had a decent outing before slacking off in the 8th. Even Ted Lilly wasn't bad (prior to the 10-run 7th inning). David Freese hit a grand slam; Brett Lawrie homered. Ryan Braun homered, in addition to going 4-5.
W: 5-2
All of the Tigers' runs came via the home run. Miguel Cabrera had 3 of them, accounting for 4 RBI. Ike Davis' solo homer broke his streak of 10 games without one.
W: 6-2
Mark Trumbo homered twice and drove in 4. David Freese had a clutch RBI double with two outs in the 3rd, and later followed it up with another RBI single. Justin Verlander pitched a decent 8 innings. Josh Donaldson of the Dodgers finished a hot series, going 3-4 in the finale.
