Iowa State Update

When we were last together, we were all moping over the Cyclones' first loss on the season. It was a road loss, versus a Top 25 opponent in California.

Following that loss, Iowa State rattled off three wins versus: the rival Iowa, Bradley, and lastly Houston.

Another marquee matchup found its way to Ames when the Cyclones hosted the Duke Blue Devils. The first half belonged to Iowa State, who shot the lights out early. Duke went on a huge run early in the 2nd half, and with their tempo, they never looked back. The final was 90-81 and only the second loss on the year for Iowa State.

Since then, Iowa State has won 5 straight, including two HUGE upsets at home. Those upsets were versus (9) Texas (73-50) and the heart attack game versus (2) Kansas, a 71-69 victory.

The Cyclones are undefeated in the conference, but miraculously are NOT in either Top 25 poll, yet. They do rank #15 in RPI.

Because they are leading the conference, the Cyclones are slotted in as a #4 seed in early "Bracketology" reports.

There are STILL tough matchups ahead: @ Oklahoma, @ Baylor, @ Missouri, @ Kansas, and @ Kansas State...
