The game was truly a passing spectacle for the Spartans, who debuted a new playbook.

Some outstanding features include the fact that:

Nearly all run plays have a lead blocker.
There aren't any run plays out of the shoutgun.
There are a lot of Play Action fakes.
Most passes are intended to be quick.
Very few passes need to develop.
Long passes have routes intended to flood zones or cross, in order to confuse coverages.
We prefer the "station-to-station" method, seeking long drives and focusing on each 1st down separately.

There weren't any interceptions thrown today, and Maxwell also completed 83% of his passes. He was not sacked either, though some throws were rushed.

The win was expected, as the intent was for this game to be a warmup to (21) Boise State next week.
