Although hitting 1-3 after being called up from AAA Toledo, Miguel Tejada was sent down because of his poor defense. Utility man Ryan Flaherty took his spot in the big leagues. Flaherty will play until JJ Hardy recovers from his oblique injury.

Since I realized that Tejada has little time left, I shipped him to the Oakland A's along with struggling prospect Billy Sadowski for prospects Charles Turner, Wally Kelly, and George Valdez.

Turner plays middle infield and he can bunt. Kelly had an above-average pickoff move for a player in the minors. Valdez is a minors lefty-specialist.

We also slashed ~$1.4 million from payroll.
