Tigers Make More Moves

The Tigers traded Marco Scutaro, Scott Downs, and Al Alburquerque to the Astros for JD Martinez, Livan Hernandez, and prospect Ed Davis.

JD Martinez is a better hitter vs. lefties. Scott Downs is aging, and Jordan Walden will get work now. Al Alburquerque was the only talent available to make the trade interesting enough for Houston. Livan Hernandez was a throw in, but our pitchers in the minors are struggling. Ed Davis may develop in the future.

We also shaved more than $8 million from payroll.
