Detroit Tigers Acquire Josh Beckett

What a shame for Brandon Beachy. I thought he was the answer. Yes, he's better than Scherzer and Porcello (both who I traded away earlier), but Beachy has been having trouble with command.

Silly me, I tried free agent Roy Oswalt in attempting to solve the problem. I signed him, but realized that he would be too expensive for his age.

By the title, you could tell where this went. For more salary benefit, I added Joaquin Benoit to the mix, sending him to Boston as well. Benoit wasn't as much of a problem, but he is getting up there in terms of years too. His most recent outing didn't help his cause either.

In addition to acquiring Beckett, the Tigers also recieved Mark Melancon. Despite his struggles in real life, I doubt that his ERA will transfer to a video game. Beckett is now the number 2 starter in a rotation to be reckoned with (Justin Verlander, Gio Gonzalez, Doug Fister, etc.).
