Game 19 vs. ATL

Both sides started off slow. The first signs of offense came in the 3rd. The Tigers loaded the bases, but Prince Fielder grounded into a double play.

The first scoring came in the 4th. Brian McCann homered, and others were left on base later in the inning. McCann homered again in the 5th.

The Tigers didn't score until the 6th. Miguel Cabrera hit a solo shot, his 10th of Spring Training. He leads the league.

Jason Heyward homered in the 7th, and that was all for the offense. The Braves took this one, 4-1.

Team Notes
Andre Ethier and Scott Downs made their team debuts. Ethier was 1-4 and Downs struck out the only batter he faced.

Game 20 vs. MIN

The game started as an unlikely pitcher's duel, but the Tigers broke through in the 2nd. After a Victor Martinez double, Michael Morse delivered with an RBI single. Denard Span saved the inning for the Twins as he robbed Alex Avila of a home run.

In the 3rd, Andre Ethier led off with a double. Prince Fielder drove him in with a single. Michael Morse followed with his second RBI single of the day. The slumping Alex Avila then came through with an RBI single as well.

Andre Ethier had another leadoff double in the 4th, and another double by Miguel Cabrera drove him in. However, in the 5th, the Twins started stringing hits together. Danny Valencia and Denard Span had back to back hits, but a diving play by Austin Jackson prevented a third straight single. Alexi Casilla struck out to end the threat.

After a great afternoon, Jordan Zimmerman came out after 6 IP. He had 8 Ks while only giving up 4 hits. Collin Balester was his replacement. He was credited a hold for 1 1/3 innings of perfection. Scott Downs came on to pitch afterwards. He surrendered a 2 run HR to J.R. Towles.

With closer Jose Valverde on the mound, the Twins loaded the bases with one out. Pinch-hitter Miguel Sano struck out. Ben Revere struck out looking to end the game. The Tigers won 5-2 and ended a 2 game slide.
