I use a few differnt plug-ins. I cannot really say what they are since they were given to me. You can do a Google search for PS plug-ins and usually find something that will be helpful.

A lot of the custom cover makers on OS are on there. You should try out to be a cover maker. We have a lot of resources there to help you improve your covers. I am one of the top admins there.
