NFL 2009-2010 Schedule Release
Posted on April 14, 2009 at 10:31 PM.
Okay...

Football is around the corner. The NFL 2009-2010 schedules were released today. There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming season. Me, as a Seahawks fan, I'm looking for a rebound. Everything was just topsy-turvy last season. Everything was out of wack: from the Hawks being riddled with injuries at the skill positions(most notably WR), to Tom Brady going down with a severe knee injury, to the Titans winning 10+ games (while seating Vince Young in the process), to Jay Cutler becoming what Brady Quinn should've been, to Joe Flacco possibly giving (wait for it...) the Ravens an offensive threat.

What do you think? What teams will win their divisions? What players will take home season awards? Who will be the MVP? What teams will make a comeback? (No, Detroit Lions) What teams will stay in a rut? Who will make the playoffs? Who will win the Super Bowl? Comment answers on all of the things I just mentioned...

Nice stuff but I haven't had time to look over the schedules and I will also wait for predictions after the Draft. If a team gets the right players it can make enough difference to sway my picks. I will however go on record to say who I think the Seahawks will take in the 1st & 2nd rd.

Seahawks had trouble last year on defense and most of the problems was that teams would attack the opposite CB of Trufant. Kelly Jennings played terrible but Josh Wilson came in and played great. As much as I liked how Josh Wilson played he is a very small CB at only 5'9". I believe the Seahawks will trade down in the draft and take Malcolm Jenkins and big & physical CB who can help match up against the Cards in our division. The Seahawks addressed there WR and D-Line through FA's and Trades. I don't think they will take a QB but they are blowing smoke up to get other teams behind them nervous enough to trade up to get there guy. The Seahawks do not have much CAP room and taking a skill position on Offense will be a hefty price to get signed so I think they will trade down and take Jenkins later in the draft. They will target Brian Robiskie in the 2nd rd because he is a guy with great charachter and skills.

Africa Jr...L-O-L!!!

Just to let everyone know, I'm gonna be keeping this post up all through the remaining months until September, so spread the word and keep posting.

As for the draft, NFLHITMAN, I can agree. The Seahawks have had trouble on defense, so I can see them drafting Aaron Curry if he's still available. However, even though the Hawks addressed the receiver problems through free agency, we still don't have that "gamebreaking" player at WR, so I wouldn't be surprised if they go WR with their pick. Also, the O-Line is faulty at best, and Walter Jones is getting old, so they might go Guard or Tackle.

P.S.: If Mark Sanchez is still available, I don't think the Hawks will hesitate...

I'm stoked for The Bears chances this year based on strength of schedule alone.

Add in Jay and hopefully a nice draft and I might get downright giddy.

I don't think Jay Cutler will do anything spectacular this season. In Denver, they ran a West Coast Offense. The Bears don't have that type of pass heavy offense, nor do they have any receivers half as talented as those in Denver...

If Seattle bounces back... and there's a reasonable chance of that happening... that division's gonna be up for grabs and it's gonna be fun to watch. With Arizona coming off a championship season, and San Francisco clearly on the rise, wow... it's gonna be a dog fight. I'm going with the Cards to repeat- barely.

I like Minnesota in the north. Actually, I hate Minnesota, but I think they're the best team in that division. It all starts up front, and that defensive line is sick. AP is the best back I've seen since Barry, and he'll only get better as he learns to put the rock away.

I look for Atlanta to carry the south with a maturing young QB and a dominant running game. In the East, New York looks sick right now with Braylon Edwards.

The AFC is too easy though. New England, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh are pretty close to locks. The West doesn't really matter because everyone sucks:P

adembroski,

No matter if it's in the AFC or NFC; why don't the West division teams always suck. It would be fun to watch another team win the AFC/NFC West title...if other teams were in a close race! It seems as if the team that wins the West division title is only doing so because all of the other West teams are all under .500...

I read a few articles on it and have heard it mentioned several times before, West teams (AFC and NFC) have the worst travel schedules due to distance and time zone changes. True or not, it makes sense.

jWILL10...Personally I'm not expecting Cutler to repeat what he did in Denver. If he can force opposing D's to respect the long ball and open up the box for the run game...then he's improves this team greatly in my book
