some of you know i am a avid nba fan. to put that into perspective i have NBA tv, i have nba league pass and i play on a ymca league to this very day. ill post some videos in the future from me in high school. but anyway im off topic here. i am loyal to the NBA and nba 2k. i love them now for the same reasons we all fell in love with 2k, they where the underdog they put gameplay before anything else, and they where responsive to US the consumers. but we have had a momentum shift people in the last three years. 2k HAS DOMINATED this genre. why because we all believed in them and we all bought into what they where selling. but has 2K in there quest for total domination become lazy? i want to put this out on record right now. "if it wasnt for guys like chris smooth, lenzy da great, shakedown 2012 and hundreds of guys on this forum to say the least, shareing information teaching each other moves makeing the game exiteing, 2k would have thousands of gamers scratching there heads? has 2k relied on these guys to explain to the public how to enjoy and play this game. have they become spoiled because of these guys?have they forgotten its the little guys that make them there money. its the new guy that just recently picked up the game. i want chris smoove to know this publicly! if it wasnt for him i would have never bought nba 2k11. and ive loved 2k since dreamcast really, thats true. i have no affiliation to him. as of now at least, and i dont owe him and he sure as hell dosent owe me. but lets keep this real. i went on youtube to reasearch the game i saw it was him. whom i met years early on XBL and he was KILLING it. in fact when i had gotten bored of playing i would go watch one of his videos and get hyped and then play. this goes for shake and dcoop and the many other guys putting in work. we all dont have to agree with one another at times but the fact of the matter is. 2k never put up one tutorial that actually help user gameplay. there game is sooo deep. i remember on xbox 2k was the first game to have a user controlled cross over. this series has so much to offer yet the only thing they talked about was MJ and the free throw line dunk lol. which was great by the way. really all im saying is at the end of the day WE control sticks. lets get together help each other out, and enjoy the playoffs. lets ask 2k to get back to there roots . lets ask them to listen to the people that matter. i dont want 2k to fall off but every empire has to crumble its gonna be a crazy one next year fellas. lets see what happens. and lets hope 2k dose not get lazy in the process.

I totally agree with your point on the lack of tutorials. NBA 2K is so deep that for a newcomer to the game or a more casual gamer the game can be daunting. I actually wonder how many players actually utilise the numerous moves the game offers up.

You forgot about the Czar, this guy has helped a ton when it comes to running an offense and understanding how the game works.
It's the same thing every year, around march you get to see new animations, guys labbing "hidden" moves and such.2k never explains things even at a fundamental level like the impact of feathering the sticks on movement,or how to shoot or pass at certain angles. And also how the quality of your controller's stick responsiveness also plays a big role.We are past the up down left right era of video games.

agree with RuffnReady and Darrazz.
IMO, 2kisnt lazy at all, every few years they realeas an NBA game thats phenomenonal. in between those years, the games are still good.
In alot of ways, I personally think 2k12 was/is better than 2k11. part of the problem with folks is that
1. there wsnt no competitor to compare the game to.
2. the djustments between the 2 may have been a bit much for a lot of gamers.
Next year Im sure 2k will take the best of 2k11 and 2k12, and integrate it into the new features of 2k13.
2k has never been lazy, IMO they have listended to their customers too much. Alot of the the things people complain about in 2k12 were requested by the consumer.
2k sports has never disappointed me. if it wasnt for 2ksports, I probably wouldnt be gaming.

I have to agree with @tril and @ironwork, I was planing on writing a blog about this and tips today but I got caught up with the playoffs. I don't think lazy is the appropriate word, I think it's not a big priority, 2k added training camp mode but it really doesn't help. If you really want to learn this game, you'll needed to play a couple of games then head towards practice mode and work on your issues. Also the point about feathering the stick is a major point. da Czar really has game saving 2k12 tips if you look for them. He is the reason why I didn't trade 2k12 in. But I think if 2k did take the time out to show and explain features and not just leave it up to us to discover, they would have a lot of happy costumers. I'm really enjoying 2k12 now, but thats only because I went to practice mode and scrimmage.

Let's hope for improved netcode next year. Online isn't too bad, but it still lacks the speed and fluidity of offline games.

To be honest I didn't know half the moves till I read the guide and still work on them. Been playing for over 8 years by the way.
