NBA 2K14: Adjusting Heights & Weights
Posted on July 13, 2014 at 04:18 AM.
This is a post in a series of blog posts describing the process of player modifications, ratings changes or signature skill changes that went into my PS4 NBA 2K14 Offseason Update Roster.

When playing NBA 2K, I've often found the heights and weights inconsistent. I understand heights and weights are taken directly from NBA, but unfortunately that source is also inconsistent and/or not updated.

Height

Most NBA height measurements are considered the player's height in shoes. However, there are two issues that generally arise, players such as Kevin Durant who's listed height is not in shoes and players such as Michael Beasley whose 6'10" height exaggeration and other heights were raised such as Kevin Durant's 6'9" which is his height without shoes. Some players, do legitimately grow and are not updated, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Here is a list of players that I've changed and the new height, click for the source.

Weight

I doubt I'm even at the tip of the iceberg in terms of weight. Players weights rise and fall like all people, unfortunately, the weights are rarely, if ever, updated.

As I mentioned I am probably at the tip of the iceberg in terms of finding inaccuracies, particularly in weight. Feel free to post if you have citable evidence of a player who should be changed. Thanks.
