THE TEAMS - SEASON A EAST
Posted on October 31, 2019 at 12:37 AM.
Season A

EAST

1. 2001 Philadelphia 76ers
Record 56-26

This is Allen Iverson's chance to shut the critics up and show just how good he is. AI will surely put this team on his shoulders and will have one goal carry this Sixers team into the playoffs and beyond. Larry Brown will try and compliment Iverson with the likes of Toni Kukoc and Eric Snow. Dikembe Mutombo and Aaron mcKie bring some much needed defensive grit to the floor.

2. 2005 Phoenix Suns
Record: 62-20

Steve Nash had an MVP season and was at the top of his game with this team, it will be interesting to see how he does in a division matching up with Allen Iverson. Amare Stoudemire and Shawn marion expect to clean the glass for this team while Jim Jackson and Quentin Richardson bring consistency. Fun to watch this team run in the desert.

3. 1995 New York Knicks
Record: 55-27

Rugged and ready for a tussle, this Knicks team relies more om muscle and defense then on talent. In contrast their talented center Patrick Ewing would rather should then fight but the Knicks have had a tendency to choke in big games. Pat Riley thinks his team is deep enough to complete and the guard play lead by Derek Harper, Greg Anthony and Doc Rivers should be key. Knicks will provide two things for sure, attitude and John Starks ill advised shots.

4. 1986 Chicago Bulls
Record: 30-52

The worst team in all the field this Chicago team will hope it can avoid triple teams in getting young Michael Jordan the ball. Jordan will have the lead the league in scoring to have any chance to make this team even competitive among the giants. It is more that this Chicago team is here for show more then anything, as Dave Corzine and
Kyle Macy arnt going to make anyone lose sleep.

5. 1991 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: 58-24

One last chance at showtime this was the last great laker team lead by Magic Johnson and even as age crept in with some of the known names like Worthy and Scott, Serbian center Vlade Divac brings in some much needed life. With no injuries in our season this team should be much better then people expect, there is a harmony of winning here throughout this roster.

6. 2016 Golden State Warriors
Record: 73-9

The best record in NBA history and a true dynasty, it will be fun to watch how well the Warriors can do against different eras and styles. Probably anyone who tries and shoots with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are going to end up regretting it while Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut will try to hold their own against the best. A team that changed the way the game is played will have a ton of coaches and players gunning for them. Surely the Warriors will be locked and loaded for the assault.

7. 2014 San Antonio Spurs
Record: 62-20

A Spurs team that made the Labron Heat look like children, this team could be a sleeper to go deep. Kawhi Leonard as a defensive stand out could shutdown anyone in the league and Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli still have something left in the tank. Maybe the depth this team lacks is something to worry about, but Greg Popovich knows the names on this roster spellout winning in every shape and form.

8. 1965 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: 49-31

The Laker team with one of the best backcourts in the league with both Jerry West and Elgin Baylor in their primes. Baylor was as dynamic a player of the era well ahead of his time and West could really fly high with a three point line. The roster is very thin however and it will be very tough to see how this team will last 48 minute games or a long season. Look for great moments from this team but not necessarily wins.

9. 1997 Miami Heat
Record: 61-21

A much better team then you may remember this Heat side put it all together and won 61 games. Alonzo Mourning was playing like a Hall of Famer and Tim Hardaway still had something left in the tank. Dan Majerle and Jamal Mashburn add depth and points to a team that really changed south Florida for the first time. Sasha Danilovic is another name you may want to keep an eye and ear out for as well.

10. 1995 Orlando Magic
Record: 57-25

A team that did not live up to its promise but for one moment it appeared that they could take over the NBA. With a young Shaq and Penny the team also ushered in a new era into the game that was perfect for the 1990's. Dennis Scott could light it up and Horace Grant knew a thing or two about winning that made this team dangerous. They were the only team to knock out Michael Jordan from a playoff series in the span of his title runs.

11. 2012 New York Knicks
Record: 36-30

Linsanity has made it into our league and this may have been the last Knicks team to really catch the city by storm. Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire provide star talent of differing styles but the emergence of Lin gave the team something more. Tyson Chandler can clean the glass and Baron Davis is there if a big shot ever needs to be drained. Mike Dantoni will run this team into the ground and a short season in 2012 played a part in their success.

12. 2011 Dallas Mavericks
Record: 57-25

A championship team that wont be forgotten in Texas lead by Dirk Nowitzki who plays like no other 7 footer you have ever seen. Jason Kidd kept the offense going and hidden talents like Caron Butler and JJ Barea gave this team the keys to winning it all. If your looking for a weakness on this team, you are looking in the wrong place, this team has almost everything and Mark Cuban made sure of it. The Mavs should be a cinch to make the playoffs.

13. 1972 New York Knicks
Record: 48-34

The legend of Willis Reed and the last champion to play in the Garden seems like it will always live on. Walt Frazier is the perfect floor leader for a cool smooth team like the Knicks of this era. Earl Monroe and Jerry Lucas add even more character to this side and the hippie like Phil Jackson may not have the talent, but has the intagibles. A truly legendary team from New York, does anyone really expect them to be dull to watch?

14. 1994 Houston Rockets
Record: 58-24

A window where this team won back to back titles and the best player in the league. Hakeem truly was unstoppable for these teams and outclassed the likes of Shaq and David Robinson. It will be amazing to see the Dream go up against the likes of Jabaar, Chamberlain, and Russell.Kenny Smith and Sam Cassell compliment Vernon Maxwell very well while a young Robert Horry already has the clutch gene. This is a true championship team, that no one will not be a welcomed opponent for anyone.

15. 2006 Memphis Grizzlies
Record: 49-33

The Grizzlies dont have the deepest history in the league but this team did have a respectable season. Pau Gasol as a young center could do it all including pulling the big men out of the paint to guard him. Mike Bibby and Damon Stoudamire may not be the best back court around and their age could be a factor. This team also going far or making the post season really isnt in the cards. Memphis enjoy the great visiting teams coming through town.

16. 2019 Los Angeles Lakers
Record: N/A

Anthony Davis and Lebron James lead a Laker tean that is playing more on expectation then on result. Still there is no doubt that AD is one of the most talented big men this game has seen and his partnership with a veteran James should be interesting. How Dwight Howard and Rosan Rondo fit in will also be fun to watch. A new era in Laker basketball as well as a new era in the Kings legacy. Its anyones guess how well this team will play.

17. 1989 Detroit Pistons
Record: 63-19

Few teams have the reputation of the Bad Boys, the Pistons will slap their own kid to assure that they get the job done. Maybe the most disliked team in history, Bill Laimbeer and Dennis Rodman leading the boos. Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars work well together and watch for the mid range games of Vinnie Johnson and mark Aguire. The toughest of competitors, Chuck Daly will make sure his team has the right chemistry and intangibles to play against anyone with the belief of winning.

18. 1994 Denver Nuggets
Record: 42-40

The upset makers, the Nuggets and Dikembe Motombo feel that no mountain is too high to climb. The only 8 seed to win in league history bigger and more talented teams beware. Abdul Rauf cane get hotter then anyone while Reggie Willimans and Laphonso Ellis seek consistency. Of course it could also get ugly for the Nuggests, the talent level they are up against is no where near what they are putting on the court overall.
