Here I am, sitting in a hotel in New York City. It's not my first time here and I know it won't be my last. And here I am, alone as I've been for the past couple of years. Alone away from family and friends. Alone from anyone who gives a **** about me. But still, I don't mind. I find myself waking up every morning and thanking God.
And so, why do I thank God? Why? Well, I must also add that I visit various hospitals on my own time. I visit children who probably won't live to drive their first car, meet their first love. I visit children who are living, but not "living" since they are being supported by technology's great inventions. I visit children who can't see or hear me. Why do I do this? Why do I donate most of my paycheck to these hospitals? Because it gives me something to live for. A smile on someone's face pays more than money. A smile on someone's face is faster than a sports car. A smile on someone's face is bigger than a mansion. The fact that I could make someone's world a better place by giving a hug or singing a song is why I'm living happily.
So I don't give a damn if I'm alone because I live to see the daylight, while hundreds of unfortunate human beings are losing their light. I spend much of my time alone writing music which brings in an excellent paycheck. But I'm not doing this for money. I'm not doing this for the free hotels and transportation. I'm doing this because I have dreams, and not striving for those dreams would be an insult to those who don't have the chance. So next time you're complaining about something, wasting breath, just think of those who are struggling on their last breath...alone in a world so dark; alone in their own hell.

You are absolutely right, no matter how "tough" it is for us we should remember that there are others who won't even live to see their 20th birthday. I commend you on your efforts and keep it up my friend.
