Big Trade Announced

This morning the Philadelphia Flyers held a press conference to discuss a recent trade. News broke late last week that there were ongoing talks between Ottawa and Philadelphia trying to work out a trade. Sources stated that the Senators were after defenseman Tobias Enstrom and would likely be shipping back a top-4 defenseman in exchange.

The trade was confirmed on Sunday evening and finalized this Monday morning. The Flyers have sent Mark Streit, who lead the team in assists, to Ottawa for young stud Erik Karlsson. This came as a bit of a shock. Since Streit was in the final year of his contract, it had been rumored that he would be trade bait come deadline day. But due to his stellar play to start the year, his stock was on the rise. So much so that it enabled the Flyers to get a possible franchise defenseman in Karlsson.
