Jets-Panthers Pre-season Game 2 Quick Recap

first thing to be said: this was a brutal football game to watch. i actually DVR'd it, and watched when i got home late last night. after watching the first half, i had no problem falling asleep!

grades:

Sanchez: C-, did not look like an NFL quarterback. looked like a backup. maybe his line was the problem, he was under some pressure. maybe Carolina's defense is deserving of credit. but make no mistake, the Sanch-ize looked erratic, at best...

Tomlinson: B, everybody is making a big deal about his one 20-yard carry. but he still looks out of sync with sanchez in the passing game. i have a feeling the Jets want to use him as a receiver to relieve some pressure of the QB - as of now, it is not working.

O-Line: D, the Jets need this to be a strength. last night it was not.

Coles: B, this guy could really help the team. not sure if he is going to make it - but what a 4th receiver! Edwards, Holmes, super-underrated Cotchery, and then Coles???

Defense, in general: A, just like the Giants game last week, the Panthers really didn't - and couldn't - move the ball. The need Revis, i know, but so far, so good.
