It's strange watching any individual sport - the rooting interest is always interesting...
Do I want Sampras to win? (not really) Federer? (also, not really)
Roddick? (sure, but does he EVER?!?)
Now consider Tiger: I sort of root for him. I enjoy watching him when he is brilliant. And I get frustrated when he is near the lead and falters. Yet here is the tricky part... I kinda enjoy when he is crashing and burning, as well.
Strange, and perhaps simply an element of watching and rooting in individual sports that differs greatly from the fan's role in team sports.

Also like I said, in team sports... I hate seeing my team lose. I love seeing my team win. and winning big too. It really depends on the sport.
