A-Rod

I have absolutely no emotion towards A-Rod's 600th today... complete and utter apathy.

Sure, I would have been excited if had had never hit another home run - it would have been fun to hear his reaction after every single game.

In reality, though, this is what the steriod era has truly done: numbed the true baseball fans.

Amen to that. "Complete and utter apathy" is the perfect way to describe the way I, and other baseball purists, feel after witnessing this "historic" occasion. As much as I despise A-Rod as a player and as a person, I truly detest the way he and his steroid era cronies have rendered these once monumental career milestones almost irrelevant in the minds and hearts of the true baseball fans. The whole situation sickens me.

As much as I was hoping that his HR drought would continue on ad infinitum, I must say that I'm somewhat pleased that he got #600 out of the way, just so I don't have to hear his stupid name or see his face every single time I turn on ESPN.

Agreed, could care less about it. I'm actually glad he hit because now the media will quit yacking about it.
