The non-waiver trade deadline has come and gone uneventfully for the New York Yankees. Brian Cashman and the front office staff feel that the Yanks are in a good position and that no major moves were necessary. The pitching staff continues to excel and has been on a tear as of late. Even though the offense has been prone to disappear at times, as it did in the first two games of the KC series, it is nothing that they feel can't be fixed in-house.

As of August 2nd, the Yanks sit 5 games ... Read More

The NL won the All-Star Game, securing home field advantage for the lucky club that makes it to the Series (no bs, it happened, haha).

If the playoffs were to begin today, here's the current divisional champs:

AL East: Tampa Bay (1)
AL Central: Minnesota (3)
AL West: Texas (4)
AL Wild Card: New York (2)

After falling behind in the count, Hughes battled back to make the bring it to 3-2, but then surrendered a grand slam to Adam LaRoche. The D-Backs took the lead and the ... Read More

Hey everyone, welcome to 28 and Beyond, my blog covering my franchise of the New York Yankees. I'm in the middle of June right now, with a horribly slumping team. While the Yanks are in 2nd Place at 41-28 and 8 games behind the Rays, they have lost 7 in a row. Those 7 losses include being swept by the Phillies and Mets and being outscored 61-16 in those two series. The pitching has been awful and the bats haven't been any better. They'll get on the plane to head to Arizone for a 3 game set and hopefully ... Read More
