M's keep streak alive with shutout victory

Seattle - Even with the bats somewhat cooled off, the Mariners still found a way to put another win in the column against the Texas Rangers. Hisashi Iwakuma went 6.1 innings, and the bullpen did the rest as the Mariners got the shutout win. Brad Miller and Robinson Cano were the only offense Seattle needed in this one as Cano got the night started with a solo home run in the first inning. He had another hit in the game as well pushing his average up above .200 and hopefully turning the corner in what has been a rocky start to his Mariner career. The win puts the Mariners back above .500 and the disastrous month of May seems more, and more like a distant memory. The Mariners will see how far they can keep the streak going tomorrow as they go for nine straight against Texas ace Colby Lewis (7-3, 3.26 ERA), while throwing Chris Young (4-5, 3.82 ERA) up against him.
