MARINER MELTDOWN

Mariners find way to blow 7-0 lead late. Lose despite 5 errors from Twins

Minneapolis - In a season where all of the sudden nothing can go right, it looked like the Mariners had a masterful performance on their hands. Erasmo Ramirez had thrown six shutout innings, and the Mariners had staked themselves to a commanding 7-0 lead, but an epic collapse in the eighth inning allowed the Twins to steal a game they had no business winning, and continued the Mariners downward spiral towards the cellar of the American League. Kurt Suzuki and Jason Kubel supplied the crushing blows with big home runs that sucked the life right out of Seattle. Who will somehow now have to try and regroup, and salvage one game from this series. They will try to do so by sending Taijuan Walker (2-4, 4.71 ERA) to the hill to face Kevin Correia (3-2, 2.50 ERA).
