Minneapolis - The Seattle Mariners again had plenty of chances. This time leaving fourteen men on base, and turning a gaudy thirteen hits into just two runs as the fell to the Twins. It got bad early for the M's as Hisashi Iwakuma allowed five runs in the first two innings, and ended up lasting just four. The Mariners then got an oustanding relief appearance from Blake Beavan as he went the rest of the way to keep the Mariners in it, but they could not break through despite numerous chances to do so. The Mariners will try to regroup tomorrow by sending Erasmo Ramirez (0-1, 4.38 ERA) to the mound against Phil Hughes (4-2, 4.18 ERA).
