M's blow Felix two hit gem, fall to Rays

Seattle - The Mariners got another outstanding performance from Felix Hernandez, but this time could not capitalize, as they left the bases loaded twice, and a total of 10 men on overall and couldn't give the king any run support in this one. The Mariners had plenty of chances in this one loading the bases on three different occasions in the 1st, 7th, and in the 9th but could get only one run out of those three opportunities. Meanwhile the Rays got the clutch hit they needed as Logan Forsythe came on to pinch hit in the eighth and promptly cleared the bases for a three run double that was the difference. Now the Mariners get an off day before heading on the road to Minnesota. They will face red hot Ricky Nolasco (4-2, 2.24 ERA) in the opener and counter with Hisashi Iwakuma (2-4, 3.97 ERA).
