Mariners walk off in extras with Miller blast

Seattle - The Mariners again got some extra inning heroics, as they got a walk off homer for the second time during this homestand. This time it was Brad Miller hitting a two run blast to seal the Rays fate and give the Mariners a 6-4 comeback victory. It looked bleak early as the Mariners fell behind 3-0 early, but the bullpen was able to hang on, and the Mariners offense started to climb back. It started with James Jones hitting his first Major League home run in the fourth, then Mike Zunino tied it with a solo shot soon after. The game then dragged on into the 10th until Miller was able to seal it. There was some bad news for the Mariners though as Justin Smoak left the game, and reports are that the Mariners first baseman has a fractured forearm and could miss 2-3 months. Jesus Montero has been hitting well in Tacoma, and may get the call to see if he can finally find a spot on this club after the turmoil of last season. The Mariners will look to build on this victory tomorrow by facing the Rays struggling ace David Price (2-4, 6.23 ERA), and countering with Chris Young (2-2, 3.64 ERA).
